This is an emblem I designed some time ago. Explaining what each thing means and especially why I did it in the first place would be a too long story that I don't want to remember. In any case, I'm quite proud of the work I did here and I wanted to show you.
Maybe you'll be surprised to know (or maybe you wont if you're a long time watcher) that I did this using Powerpoint. I know there are better programs for graphic desgin but you can never underestimate the possibilities of Powerpoint The only thing I couldn't do was to bend those paper chains going around the emblem. Could you have imagined that you can import/export vector graphics between Powerpoint and Illustrator? I was definitely surprised.
I'm not going to lie to you, Powerpoint's clipart made things easier but I still had to put a lot of work into it.
Here is the list of things that are just plain old clipart:
-Monkey
-Chick
-Airplane
-Hawk
-Sky
The guy kneeling down for mushrooms had to be heavily edited to suit the image as he was originally a construction worker, even with a brick wall behind him
The rest was made from scratch. Yes, I did that control tower all by myself As well as the runway, the paper chains, etc.
